Commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers are required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination to obtain and maintain a commercial driver's license (CDL). What the DOT Physical Includes

• Vision — distant acuity, field of vision, and color recognition testing

• Urinalysis — screening for diabetes and kidney disease
• Neurological — reflexes and coordination assessment

• Respiratory — lung function and breathing assessment

Documentation Provided

Upon passing, you receive a Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) and your results are submitted to the FMCSA National Registry as required by federal law. Our medical examiners are listed on the FMCSA National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners.
